 Clutch Housings

Clutch Housings

Product: Clutch Housings
Process:  P2000H
Alloy/Heat Treat:  ADC12 / T5
Application:  Compact SUV/Crossover

Powertrains are more fuel efficient with Contech’s aluminum clutch housings.  The proprietary P2000H casting process provides a high density, lightweight solution to reduce the rotating mass and improve efficiency.  Very tight tolerances are maintained through the die cast, machining, balancing and leak testing operations.  The ideal casting, in both function and manufacturability, is the result of Contech’s cooperative engineering effort with customers.

 Input Housing

Input Housing

Product: Input Housing
Process: HPDC
Alloy/Heat Treat:  B390.0
Application:  Rear Wheel Drive Transmission

The input housing is a vital component of the rear wheel drive transmission conducting safe, smooth and efficient energy transfer from the engine to the vehicles drive wheels.   Performance requirements, including extended warranty periods of 100K miles, dictate special care to both material choice and quality.

 Engine Mounting Brackets

Engine Mounting Brackets

Product: Engine Mounting Brackets
Process:  P2000H
Alloy/Heat Treat:  ADC12 / T6
Application:  Midsize Sedan – Hybrid

Weight reduction is an engineering requirement in today’s automotive market, especially in hybrid vehicle applications.  The P2000H casting process produces a lightweight heat treated engine mounting bracket that exhibits mechanical properties approaching that of steel.   In addition to fuel savings, improved NVH characteristics in aluminum engine mounts also increase the appeal to the vehicle’s end-user.  Secondary operations include machining and subassembly.

 Valve Body

Valve Body

Product: Valve Body
Process:  HPDC
Alloy/Heat Treat: 383
Application:  6-speed transmission SUV/Light Truck

Valve Bodies are an integral component to a transmission that allows the transmission to shift gears automatically. These components require tightly held casting tolerances. They also require high integrity so that they do not leak and will not damage cutting tools used in subsequent manufacturing operations. The valve bodies must be free of defects that could damage the transmission during its service life.
