The foundation of CONTECH’s success began over 50 years ago as a single site die casting facility. Since that time, the CONTECH organization has developed the adaptability necessary to establish CONTECH as a premier provider in the constantly changing automotive market. Our milestones include the continued expansion and creation of state of the art manufacturing facilities both in the United States and abroad, acquiring other businesses to add improved product offerings and capabilities, as well as the development of proprietary thin wall and thick wall die casting processes.
1950 – The first operation begins as Foster Consolidated Products in Dowagiac Michigan.
1952 – The company is sold to J.W. Marks who changes the name to Consolidated Die Cast Corporation of America.
1955 – Company relocates to new facility north of Dowagiac.
1968 – Consolidated Die Cast Corporation of America is purchased by Sealed Power Corporation.
1969 – Completed the Alma, Michigan facility
1985 – Completed the Auburn, Indiana facility for rack & pinion housings.
1988 – Renamed Contech and moved headquarters to Kalamazoo, Michigan.
1990 – Developed P2000H squeeze process in its Auburn, Indiana facility
1992 – Retooled Alma, Michigan facility to produce high strength P2000H steering column components.
1997 – Completed first phase in Pierceton, Indiana facility, setting up P2000H squeeze casting capability.
2000 – Acquired Metal Forge business and converted its manufacturing plant in Clarksville, Tennessee
from steel forging to aluminum die casting via a two phase integration process.
2001 – Completed first international manufacturing facility in Welshpool, United Kingdom, providing HPDC and P2000H products.
2004 – Contech launches first production parts in P2000V squeeze process.
2005 – Finished second integration phase in Clarksville, Tennessee, expanding the facility for casting and added an internal machine department.
2006 – Launching new technologies – High-Q-Cast for structural body components.
2009 - Contech assets are purchased by Revstone Industries.
