High Pressure Die Casting

Process

CONTECH’s Enhanced High Pressure Die Casting process has been developed over the past 50 years into a process that is capable of producing pressure-tight, highly complex castings for a wide variety of applications.

CONTECH’s Enhanced High Pressure Die Casting process combines the inherent advantages of HPDC with several technical enhancements to maximize performance:
  •  The use of vacuum to evacuate the mold of entrapped air prior to filling greatly reduces the occurrence of gas porosity.
  • The use of completely automated process control and monitoring, spray application, and part extraction assures a repeatable and reliable process.
  • In many situations, the use of localized squeeze pins reduces the occurrence of shrink porosity to provide a dense structure.
